    RIVFEST 2019

    Saturday 28 September 2019, doors 12.30pm, starts 1pm, £15

The festival set up in memory of Viola Beach guitarist River Reeves is returning for a fourth year.

Viola Beach were a band with the world at their feet, already receiving a huge amount of attention from a loyal following and the BBC in the form of a Maida Vale BBC Introducing session and Radio 1 play-listings. The band had been selected to play at SXSW in Texas and had headlined a sold-out gig at London’s Koko not to mention support slots with Blossoms and appearances at Reading and Leeds Festivals. In short Viola Beach were going places before their promising careers were cut so tragically short.
Rivfest exists to provide a platform for emerging artists and to provide support for talented young musicians looking to take the first steps in their own musical and artistic careers. Each year the River Reeves Charitable foundation awards scholarships of up to £500 to enable struggling or disadvantaged young artists to “create alternate futures”, a phrase coined by Coldplay’s Chris Martin during their 2016 Glastonbury headline set which paid tribute to Viola Beach.

Over the past 2 years Rivfest has featured more than 100 acts including:
Maxiimo Park, Billy Bragg, Eliza and the Bear, Model Aeroplanes, Fickle Friends, The Lottery Winners, Mo Jamil, Man & The Echo, The RPM’s, No Hot Ashes, The Bohos, The Mysterines, Ferris and Sylvester, Francis Lung, Kashmere, The K’s, Sunstack Jones, Chambers, Dantevilles, Saytr Play, Pale Seas, The Strawberries, Witch Fever, The Rain Band and many more.

Rivfest is working in partnership with arts charity Culture Warrington to provide a platform for up and coming bands and solo artists from across the North West.

This unmissable one-day festival, on Saturday 28 September, will be spread across three stages at Pyramid Arts Centre, showcasing more than 30 emerging indie and electronic artists for an incredible day of live music.

This year most exciting line up yet is as follows

Many artists who have performed at Rivfest in previous years have gone on to sell out their own shows and tours, and support the UK’s best known artists.
