Playground- a new single about the transition to adulthood

From punky floor movers to dreamy indie pop ballads, Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers are a post-punk/indie rock outfit based in Manchester with a huge range of influences; from Alice in Chains to Arctic Monkeys and everything in-between.
The upcoming single ‘Playground is out February 17th. Having already gained airplay from BBC Introducing in Cumbria, coverage in Louder Than War and RGM, along with constant gigging in Manchester’s staple venues like Deaf Institute and Night & Day, the young lads that are fresh out of university are ones to watch.

Hitting the Manchester underground scene in 2022, Nat Dempsey
& The Near Strangers are gaining a reputation for raising the roof
on some of the towns most iconic venues. Regrouping in late 2022
they re-branded, to create this robust energetic blend of talent. While their first release ‘Run & Hide’, blended elements of indie-
rock to post-punk, grunge and everything in between. This latest release hits the listener with a much softer thoughtful indie beat, it’s a track that isn’t simply listened to but experienced with the
restless angst felt by leaving the back waters of a small town, to
find yourself surrounded by big city lights, feeling as if your being
swallowed up by the rat race of monotonous daily life, trying to
keep your head above water and your creative, inquiring mind
alive. It’s a track that many will relate to whether living it now or in
the past, being frightened of what the future holds and of seeing
the youthful/hedonistic life you once knew slipping slowly away.
