    Enzo Popularizes Term “Huzz”

Enzo may not have created the word “huzz” but he sure is popularizing it. As I sat on my couch after a long day at work, I couldn’t help but hear my high school daughter scrolling through the never-ending world of TikTok. She kept repeating one video in particular for what seemed like hours and eventually while at the dinner table, she started mumbling, “Where the huzz at? Where the huzz at?” Admittedly, I had no clue what a huzz was or where they were located but after having her show me the song I was hooked. Debates about the meaning and origin of the word scatter the web with some linking it to streamers like Kai Cenat and Plaqueboymax. My guess is this song may blur that line even further. With how fast the internet moves, it’s hard to find something at its inception, but “Where The Huzz At” by Enzo has the rare opportunity to be a bridge between what is in some ways a Gen-Z inside joke and what could potentially be a time a stamp mainstream hip hop record.

With “Nokia” climbing the charts as we speak, I think the obvious comparison would be to Drake but where Drake leans on nostalgia, Enzo leans on the future of Gen-Z culture. The repetitive melodic hook drills into your subconscious while the infectious synth production from “Doitjustis” makes it almost impossible not to memorize the song and dance to it by your second listen. At the time that I’m writing this, Google is already linking Enzo to the word “huzz” and at a quick glance, TikToks racking up thousands of views are already making their rounds, using the song and weaving it into modern-day meme culture, even one with Ashton Hall as the protagonist. A compilation video with nostalgic memes posted by an anonymous spam page has already accumulated over a thousand views in less than a couple of days as well. It will be interesting to see the trajectory of this song and more so the trajectory of Enzo’s career because if comparisons hold true, and if my gut serves me well, the future is very very bright with this young star.
