Hot!

“After the Screaming Stops” – Bros to play O2 Academy Brixton

I’ve got to admit, of all the press releases that hit the mailbox, a year ago one about Bros would have probably gone straight in the virtual bin – after all, I was way too cool to like Bros 😉

But the surprise Christmas tv hit “After the Screaming Stops” has renewed interest in the guys.

With memorable spinal tapesque lines such as “I made a conscious decision because of Stevie Wonder to not be superstitious.” – were they being serious, or just a clever ruse to get those of us who weren’t fans to take an interest in the show?  Either way, it certainly got everyone talking!

I’m probably at an age now where I can admit I did quite like “Too Much”, but don’t tell anyone 🙂

Here’s all the official info:

‘BROS COMING HOME’

LIVE AT O2 ACADEMY BRIXTON FRIDAY 5TH JULY 2019

BROS are coming ‘home’ to South London to play a very special show at O2 Academy Brixton on Friday 5th July 2019. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 18th January at 9.00am from www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Matt & Luke Goss performed their comeback after nearly 30 years last year at two sold out O2 arena shows in London. Before that they had not played together since 77,000 packed into Wembley Stadium on August 19th, 1989.

BROS have been riding high from the success of the movie BROS: After the Screaming Stops, which was a runaway Christmas success after it was shown on BBC.

Luke says; “After the phenomenal response to the BROS film we’re genuinely looking forward to a more intimate show in our home town. This show is going to be live, loud, up close and personal. See you there!”

Propelled by their classic smash hit ‘When Will I Be Famous’, BROS ruled the world from 1987-1992. During that time, they rewrote the pop history books:

  • BROS played 19 shows at Wembley Arena
  • They were the youngest band to ever headline Wembley Stadium
  • Their debut album ‘Push’ was 7x Platinum
  • The album was number one in 20 countries
  • They were one of the first to have a pay per view live televised show

Since then both Matt and Luke have achieved tremendous success in their respective music and film careers.

Matt began his solo career in 1995 and has sold over 5 million albums, performed at his Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace and now at The Mirage for over 7 years. He has headlined Wembley Arena, The Royal Albert Hall, the London Palladium and the Sydney Opera House and played at The White House.

Luke is enjoying a hugely successful acting and directing career in both film (Hellboy 2, Blade 2, The Man,Traffik, Deathrace 2&3) and TV (Red Widow and Emmy award winning mini-series Frankenstein), and more recently The Last Boy.
