Marlon Bereux, known professionally as 24/8, is an Australian rapper, Far from the Bronx, Queens, Compton and South LA. the Mornington Peninsula based artist has been on a path overlapping with Bizarre of D12, Tony Madness, Guilty Smiles and Okwerdz, serving quality music that proves that Australia can kick it with the best of them.

Having been streamed over 300,000 times and laying down some extraordinary tracks, 24/8’s career was nearly over before it began.

Suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and PTSD from a near fatal brain injury, music was the light in the dark. Working tirelessly in the studio to regain his flow and his dynamic style, his wordplay is rich in structure, paying homage to industry heavyweights Eminem and Cypress Hill while injecting his own Aussie larrikin spirit in full effect. At ease behind the mike with a firm eye on his truths in the mirror, 24/8 sets himself a class above his peers.

Hailing from a family of musicians, the organic nature of his work has developed across a journey of 20 odd years, the beats and rhymes combine to create a thoroughly unique experience like a blast of fresh air.

Having lived experiences of the trials of life is what makes 24/8 immediately identifiable, with a hard earned edge. With a story to tell and skin in the game, life has not broken him. It has moulded him.

Look out for 24/8’s upcoming EP titled “8Ville”, which not only signals the journey to come but the trajectory he is on. Take the trip with 24/8. Australian Hip Hop has never looked so good.
