Champagne and Fromage have arrived in Liverpool, and a visit to this phenomenal eatery needs to be added to your Christmas night out schedule.

Nestled in the right hand side of Liverpool’s cosiest food market, Grand Central Bazaar, Champagne and Fromage serves up a selection of grower champagne alongside a mouth-watering menu bursting with comfort food and winter warmers.

We arrived on a cold Saturday evening and took a seat at the bar where founder Mark Cesereo who is leading the companies Northern expansion, was happy to share his knowledge on the menu and the history of the company.

The first Champagne and Fromage launched in London in 2011 and now boasts 6 locations across the UK. Mark explains that the concept behind the venture is to provide a luxury French dining experience that doesn’t take itself too seriously; one of the most popular Deliveroo dishes from the London branch is the ‘Netflix and Cheese’ combo which provides a readymade date night!

Feeling safe in the hands of an expert we decided to go with Mark’s recommendation and sample a sharing board. The board was made up of a hand cut selection of cheese and cured meats each of which came with a perfectly chosen accompaniment. We were in foodie heaven and couldn’t wait to dig in.

The cheeses on our board were Comté, St Maure, Brillat-Savarin and Brie with truffle. Each was was delicious in its own right but a special mention has to go to Brillat-Savarin, this heavenly soft cheese topped with Amarena Cherries is unbelievably tasty offering the perfect ratio of sweet and savoury.

To compliment the board we opted for a bottle of Michel Furdyna Cart Blanche, this Pinot Noir champagne is light and paired perfectly with our selection of meat and cheese. Mark explained that each of the Champagne’s featured on the menu are carefully selected from grower vineyard’s, the attention to detail and quality is notable.

To conclude our epic feed Mark prepared a sharing portion of Melted Raclette and Potatoes. This is food porn at its finest, if halloumi fries were the Instagrammable food of the summer then get ready for Raclette to take over your feed this winter.

Whether you are catching up with friends or looking for something a little different for date night Champagne and Fromage offers a perfect dining experience. Get yourself down there this weekend, you won’t be disappointed.
