Denise Pendleton-Snape announced as speaker for Bloom into Business

A brand new women’s networking evening is being launched at Liverpool’s most popular new restaurant, The Florist.

Bloom into Business is a joint venture between The Florist’s Business Development Manager, Samantha Woolley and local entrepreneur Geniene Azalea.

As well as canapes, prosecco and the chance to meet a room full of  potential customers, guests will also be treated to guest speakers at the launch event on Thursday 4th October from 5.30pm.

The first speaker to be announced is Denise Pendleton-Snape, owner of The Gluten Free Pie company. Denise started her small business up when she saw a gap in the market for quality gluten free produce whilst living in Rotheram with her boyfriend Matt about 4 years ago. Being diagnosed with coeliac disease had put a major spanner in the works for convenient, tasty food, and so through her frustration, she thought that there must be other people that were like her, and so GFPC was born.

Denise Pendleton-Snape – Owner of The Gluten Free Pie Company

Denise started her business with a facebook page and just started experimenting with new pies, sharing them with friends and advertising them on her wall. At her very first market she had sold out of pies within an hour and had a queue!. It was then that she knew she was onto something. Denise and Matt had an idea that she could grow their family pie business while Denise was pregnant and on maternity, so she left her job doing sales in a jewelers and started delivering 30 pies a week to Sheffield’s only vegan shop, right on the top of a hill on her bike, all whilst pregnant.

After her success in building the business in these tiny towns, Denise was homesick and she knew it was time to move back to Liverpool, so whilst heavily pregnant they packed up and moved back, where Denise now has pies in countless shops and restaurants in the North West and many more on the cards

The Gluten Free Pie Company now stocks pies in over 30 different cafe’s, restaurants and whole food outlets and the fabulous Denise will be taking time out of her busy pie making schedule to join Bloom into Business womens networking and share her story and her passion.

Denise had this to say:

“I was only saying the other day to my husband, Matt, that I wanted to do some speaking to empower women and then Geniene messages me, so I thought, it must be the universe calling me, again! I’m really excited to show other women that you can build and manifest a dream from nothing. I did!”
